LEXUS UNVEILS THE NEW GS 250

  • Lexus reveals new GS 250 at the Guangzhou motor show in China
  • Powered by 206bhp 2.5-litre V6 Dual VVT-i engine with D-4S direct port injection
  • Six-speed ECT-i automatic transmission with sequential manual shift function and selectable drive modes
  • Equipped with the same innovations and safety features as the new GS 450h
  • To be launched in the UK alongside new GS 450h in June 2012

Lexus has revealed a further extension of its all-new GS luxury saloon range with the unveiling of the GS 250 at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition.

The GS 250 is powered by a 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine with D-4S direct port injection and Dual VVT-i intelligent valve timing. Maximum output is 206bhp at 6,400rpm and peak torque of 253Nm is delivered at 4,800rpm, giving the car nought to 62mph acceleration in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 142mph. NURBURGRING BY NAME AND BY NATURE

The proof is in the driving: the Lexus LFA, equipped with the Nürburgring Package of aerodynamic and handling enhancements, has conquered the famous German race track from which it takes its name with a new fastest lap for a current, regular production car.

LFA test driver and professional racer Akira Iida recorded a lap time of 7:14.64 in a fully road-legal car, running on standard specification Bridgestone Potenza RE070 tyres. Continue Reading
