The first McLaren MP4-12C GT3 to be built by McLaren GT – a new company that brings together the expertise of the McLaren Group and CRS Racing – has successfully undertaken its debut tests at the MIRA proving ground facility and Silverstone Circuit in England.  McLaren GT has also appointed a new test driver to its team, 26-year-old Portuguese racing driver Álvaro Parente.

McLAREN AUTOMOTIVE ANNOUNCES MP4-12C PRICING

The McLaren MP4-12C, the first in a range of high-performance sports cars from McLaren Automotive, goes on sale in the UK and Europe in spring 2011 at a groundbreaking price for a carbon chassis-based car.

MCLAREN’S FIRST SWISS RETAILER IN ZURICH

McLaren Automotive, the world’s newest car company, today announces its launch partner in Switzerland, with Schmohl selected to represent the company from Zurich.

A number of outstanding and experienced automotive retailers were considered for the important Swiss market. Schmohl will begin selling the McLaren MP4-12C from spring 2011 as part of a European network of an initial 13 retailers. A second Swiss retailer remains under consideration. 1,000 12Cs will be produced in 2011, with a full model range of around 4,000 McLaren high-performance sports cars produced in the UK annually by the middle of the decade. Combined with a relatively small retailer network, these numbers offer exclusivity for customers and profitability for retailers.
