
Vauxhall has confirmed that the Zafira Tourer concept, previewed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, will become a production reality, with first cars in UK showrooms by early 2012.
Called the Zafira Tourer, the new model will sit above the current Zafira model in Vauxhall’s line-up and is set to raise the bar for design, luxury, flexibility and innovation in the MPV sector.
The production car’s design, shown in these first official images, has deviated very little from the Geneva concept, illustrating design-chief, Mark Adams’ continued influence on the look of all new Vauxhall products, and reinforcing his ‘Sculptural artistry meets technical precision’ mantra. Taking a leaf from the legendary Lotus Carlton’s book, the latest Insignia VXR turns up the heat still further with the launch of a de-restricted package, allowing the car to achieve 170mph*.
Known as ‘Unlimited’ option, it removes the ‘regular’ Insignia VXR’s 155mph restrictor, allowing the range-topper to exploit its all-wheel-drive chassis dynamics to the full. Read more…

These first images of the GTC may show it in a virtual landscape, but as it races down an imaginary road, real test cars are now running final validation drives – that’s right, the Astra GTC is officially a production reality.

These are the first official pictures of Vauxhall’s most powerful Corsa ever, the new VXR Nürburgring Edition, which goes on sale in late May and aims to raise the bar in the hot-hatch class for performance and dynamics.
At the heart of the Nürburgring is a re-worked version of the Corsa VXR’s existing 1.6-litre turbocharged engine which now produces 205PS* at 5,750rpm (up from 192PS) and 250-280Nm of torque (up from 230-266Nm). A modified engine management and turbocharger system, sports exhaust with reduced back pressure – and the ability to run on 98-octane fuel – have all contributed to the rise in power. Read more…
