FORD PLANS TO TRIPLE ECOBOOST-POWERED CAR OUTPUT FOR EUROPE BY 2015
Ford is planning to more than triple the production of its vehicles equipped with fuel-efficient and powerful EcoBoost petrol engines to approximately 480,000 a year by 2015, from 141,000 in 2011. More than 135,000 of which will be vehicles equipped with the 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine, manufactured in Bridgend, Wales.

ASTON MARTIN STEPS UP ITS NÜRBURGRING 24 HOUR PROGRAMME
For the seventh successive year, Aston Martin will compete in the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours (19/20 May) as a total of eight Vantage racers gear up for the endurance epic. The marque will field its most ambitious entry to date with four official Aston Martins – including a pair of V12-powered Vantage GT3s – supported by a further four customer cars.

For the 2012 Mille Miglia tribute, the Alfa Romeo Historic Motoring team will be lining up four official Museum vehicles, two pre-war – the 1500 SS and the 1750 GS – and two models from the 1950s – the 1900 SS and the 2000 Sportiva – which took part in the Mille Miglia race between 1927 and 1957, a classic event which resulted in 11 victories for Alfa Romeo – a record which remains unbeaten.
