For the second year running, Škoda has scooped the accolade of ‘Private Hire Car of the Year’ in Professional Driver magazine’s annual awards, with its class-leading Superb.
This is the Superb’s sixth award win in 2010 and the second consecutive time it has received the ‘Private Hire Car of the Year’ title. The judges cited the estate’s impressive leg room, outstanding luggage space and luxurious finish as the deciding factors.
Mark Bursa, Editor of Professional Driver magazine, said: “The impact of the second-generation Škoda Superb on the private hire market cannot be underestimated. It’s a genuine game-changer. In fact, rear legroom is so impressive that most judges gave it 10 out of 10 for this feature alone.
“Last year, the Superb hatch walked away with the class – and this year the estate repeated the trick. Most judges felt the estate version has made an excellent car even better.”
The award win further reinforces Škoda’s position as a brand leader, as the Superb Estate fought off stiff competition in the category, against eight other manufacturers.
A total of 33 cars were entered for the Professional Driver magazine Car of the Year Awards, which were adjudicated by more than 30 judges from the chauffeuring and private hire sector and the motoring media.
The Superb Estate is available from £17,720. For more information visit www.skoda.co.uk
